The School of Distance Education at Bharathiar University was founded in 1991. It is situated in Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore. There are approximately 308 Spot Admission-cum-Learning/Information centers spread out across the nation.
UG, PG, PG Diploma, Diploma, and Certificate Programs are Available at BU SDE. Along with BCA, BSW, and B.Lib.Sc programs, it offers BSc, BA, B.Com, and BBA courses in 17, 6, 3, and 15 different disciplines. The university offers M.Sc. in 13 specializations, MA in 7 disciplines, M.Com, MBA, Integrated MBA, Executive MBA, MCA, MSW, and M.Lib.Sc. courses as PG-level programs. Each PG-level program lasts for two years.
Candidates may also enroll in a certificate program with eight specializations, a PG diploma program with 16 specializations, or a diploma course with 11 specializations.

Bharathiar university distance education scholarships.
The following are the scholarship programs available to students at the university:
● Candidates for the BC-MBC post-matriculation scholarships offered by the Government of Tamil Nadu must have attained a minimum attendance rate of 75% in the previous academic year. Parents' annual income should be less than INR 1,000,000.
● Candidates for the Higher Education Special Loan Scholarship (SC-ST Converted Christian students) must reside in the university residence hall. The parents' combined annual income should not exceed INR 50,000.
● Students from SC-ST who have converted to Christianity and are Adi-Dravidars are eligible for Government of India Scholarships if they met the minimum attendance requirement of 75% in their previous academic year. For SC and ST candidates with an annual income under INR 1,00,000, the parent's annual income should be less than INR 50,000.
